Summer is drawing to an end, but that doesn’t mean the kids have to stop having fun. Head over to the Palisade Pool for the Back-to-School Beach Party for an evening of games and water fun. This year’s Second Annual Beach Party promises to be even better than ever.
Palisade Recreation Intern, Karli Wagner, is planning the big bash as part of her internship with the Town of Palisade, and there are going to be some great games and awesome prizes. Youth and families are invited to join in the fun on Friday, July 31st from 5 – 9 p.m. at the Palisade Pool for a small fee of $3 in advance or $5 admission at the gate. All season pool pass holders will receive $1 off the admission price. The last day for the pre-sale price is July 30th. All children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
Participants will find themselves busy with games such as beach volley ball, water balloon toss, beach ball races, and limbo.
The theme for the party this year is Shipwrecked Pirates, and dressing in theme is highly encouraged. Swimmers will get into the party theme with Pirate Training, which will feature walking the plank, talking like a pirate, and a bloody treasure hunt for all sorts of booty from Davey Jones Locker.
Sure, there will also be popular contests such as the belly flop and cannonball, with prizes for biggest splash and best in show. The party will also include food; the first 50 people in the gates will get pizza from Little Caesars.
