Mary Lincoln was surprised on Tuesday morning when the door of The Slice O’Life Bakery re-opened after a two-month winter hiatus, and in came the Mayor, Chamber of Commerce staff and members, and Channel 11 NEWS!

Mary’s son, Curt, was also there to take photos and give a congratulatory hug to Mom!

While having our favorite breads, sanwiches, soups and baked treats available again is great news in itself, the real news is that Mary was awarded with the Palisade Chamber of Commerce’s Business of the Year award.

Her delicious contributions to everyone’s waistlines are a daily part of life in Downtown Palisade, where everyone stops in for a cup of coffee and a fruit-inspired pastry treat, or a sandwich and cup of soup, and also to catch up on local goings-on.

In addition to being an important part of Palisade’s daily life, Mary also hosts the Olde Fashioned Christmas ‘Cup of Warmth’ soup fundraiser for Altrusa during the Parade of Lights.
