Bike Skills Park Grand Opening: It’s finally time for the Bike Skills Park to open! Join us for the Grand Opening and Dedication on Saturday, Sept 26th from 10:00AM-12:00PM.  The Grand Opening Event will feature ride demos by pro-amateur racers, bike safety, and bicycle registration with the Palisade PD for those in 81526 zip code, and lite refreshments.  Bring your bike and helmet so you can test the course after the opening ceremony.

Trick or Treat Street: The 5th Annual Trick or Treat Street is coming up on Friday, Oct 23rd downtown Palisade.  Palisade Recreation has begun recruiting local organizations and businesses that would like to showcase their utility vehicles at the event.  The event is FREE, so we do not allow groups to sell items, but businesses are welcome to pass out  coupons or other advertising swag.  Contact Sarah Brooks if you are interested.

Good Morning Yoga: Unwind from a long week with a relaxing and rejuvenating session of yoga, every Saturday Sept 12th through Oct 31st from 8:30AM-9:45AM.  Registration is $8 to drop in.

Open Gym: Grab your friends and drop in for a friendly game of Basketball every Monday & Wednesday from 5:30PM-7:30PM at the Palisade Gymnasium.  Drop in admission is $2.00 for youth and $3.00 for adults.  Punch passes are also available.

YOUTH PROGRAMS

Punt Pass and Kick: Calling all youth ages 6-15 to come show off their football skills at the annual Punt Pass and Kick event on Thursday, Sept 24th at 5:30PMRegistration and warm ups will begin at 4:45PM at the baseball field in Peach Bowl ParkFree to participate and there will be one male and female winner of each age division that will advance to the sectionals held later this fall in Grand Junction.  All participants MUST have a copy of their birth certificate to participate.  If you would like to pre-register and complete the waiver in advance head to the follow this link below, and be sure to list Palisade as your location http://www.nflppk.com/competitions/register/index.

Youth Programs coming up in October: Get your registrations in ASAP before all spaces fill!

Pumpkin Patch Trip (Ages 7-13): What do you have planned for Fall Break?  Treat your kids to a day full of fun with the Annual Pumpkin Patch Trip on Tuesday, Oct 6th.  The day will begin with drop off at the Palisade Gym between 8:30AM-9:30AM, active games, an outing to Studt’s Pumpkin Patch, and return to the Palisade Gym for pick up at 4:00PM.  Participants should pack a lunch, dress appropriate for the weather, wear tennis shoes, and pack a water bottle.  Registration is $22.00, enroll by Sept 29th.

Youth Tennis(NEW SESSION): Palisade Recreation has added a session of Tennis, which will begin on October 12th at the Palisade Gym.  Classes will run Mondays 4:30PM-5:30PM Oct 12-Nov 2 for ages 8-14. Registration is $22.00 per child, enroll by Oct 7thAll equipment is provided!

Gymnastics (Ages 6-9): This class is perfect for beginner and intermediate levels, participants will learn and improve basic tumbling routines, gain experience on little and big beam, and get an introduction into vaulting.  Due to popular demand of this class, we are offering two time slots on Tuesdays between Oct 13-Nov 3Session 1 will run 4:30PM-5:30PM, session 2 will follow at 5:45PM-6:45PMRegistration is $22.00 per participant,
enroll by Oct 8th

Science Camp (Ages 8-11): Looking for an Early Release program on Wednesdays?  Whether kids possess a love for science or need to improve in the subject, participants will keep their minds and hands busy with a 4 week Science Camp held Wednesdays 2:00PM-4:30PM from Oct 14-Nov 4 at the Palisade Community Center.  Palisade Rec staff will meet Taylor Elementary students at 1:50PM and walk them to the program location, all other participants are responsible for their own transportation.  Registration is $28.00, enroll by Oct 7th.

Youth Conditioning (Ages 8-13): Keep kids active and help them get ready for upcoming sports seasons with a fun and fit oriented 6 week program at the Palisade Gym.  Participants with engage in a variety of agility drills, fun active games, stretching, and learn about proper health and wellness.  Classes will run on Thursdays 4:30PM-5:30PM Oct 15-Nov 19.  Registration is $22.00, enroll by Oct 8th.

TOTS PROGRAMS

STRIDER Class: Tots ages (2.5-4) will learn the basics of biking on STRIDER bikes through a 5 week class which aims to teach balance, leaning, and steering.  All participants enrolled in the course will get to KEEP their bike at the end of the class.  Classes will begin on Tuesday, Oct 13th at 10:30AM and run through Nov 10th.  Registration is $120.00 (includes the bike) or $28.00 for kids that already have their own balance bike.  Enroll by Sept 25th.  Palisade Recreation has a few loaner bikes for youth wanting to take the class without having their own bike or wanting to purchase a bike, however they are awarded first come first serve, Register ASAP if you want to use one of the rec bikes.

Tots Tumble (Ages 3-5): Do your tots need something active during the day?  Enroll in tumbling, a class focused on the basics of tumbling, gymnastics, creative movement, building balance, improving coordination, and gaining body awareness.  Classes will run on Thursdays 11:15AM-12:00PM Oct 15-Nov 5 at the Palisade Gym.  Registration is $18.00, enroll by Oct 8th

ADULT PROGRAMS

Garden Class: Join us for Autumn Garden Planning on Wed, Sept 23rd at 12:00PM at the Palisade Bakery.  This is a FREE discussion that will focus on fall planting and prepping the garden for the spring season.  The program is FREE, but please RSVP by Sept 22nd so we can make sure there are enough handouts for everyone.

Colors & Ciders Tour: Enjoy a fall outing with a day trip to Cedaredge for hiking and color tour on the Grand Mesa followed by cider tasting at the Apple Shed.  The day trip will take place on Tuesday, Sept 29th meeting at Palisade Town Hall at 8:00AMRegistration is $16.00 and includes transportation and tastings.  Participants should dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, pack water and lunch, and bring extra money for the galleria and stops at apple stands on the return trip.  Enroll ASAP, there are only a few spaces left!
