Garfield Estates Vineyards and Winery, 3592 G Road, was host to April’s ‘Business After Hours’ mixer, a Palisade Chamber of Commerce monthly event, on Wednesday evening, April 15.
Dozens of Chamber members and guests filled the tasting room at the Winery, networking with old friends and making new contacts as well. Celebrating Tax Day, some folks came straight from the post office after mailing off their returns.

Melissa McKay of the Palisade Chamber of Commerce helps find a nametag for Marie Granat as she arrived at Wednesday’s mixer. Melissa pulled off the entire shebang herself this month, filling in for Juliann and Janell.
Chamber representative Melissa McKay held down the fort, checking in guests and giving out door prizes, introducing new members and generally standing in for Juliann Adams and Janell Dawson, neither of whom were able to attend.
Rick Fox had a table set up in the middle of the tasting room, and from there he could see everyone coming in the door. Using his location to advantage, Rick was selling Lions Club raffle tickets like mad. The Lions Club raffle is a popular fund-raiser in Palisade each year, and the Lions are always very generous with the proceeds, using the funds to make improvements around Palisade. Chamber members were also generous, substituting the heavy burden of tickets for Rick with the weight of cold, hard cash! The grand prize winner will take home $1,000 this year and there will be lots of other prizes given out at the Chili Supper on May 9.

Rick Fox, left, of the Palisade Lions Club, was able to sell raffle tickets like crazy to Chamber guests at the mixer. Proceeds from this year’s contest will go toward a shade structure in the Town Plaza.
