PARKS
Bike Skills Park: The Bike Skills Park will be closed on Friday, March 23-March 24 for maintenance on the park. Interested in learning about proper maintenance of dirt jumps? Join us for our community project day at the Bike Skills Park on Saturday, March 24 from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM. Grass Roots Cycles will be onsite to help with proper care. All Volunteers should wear tennis shoes and pack a water bottle, we will have extra water onsite. Bring work gloves and extra tools if you have them.
COMMUNITY GARDEN: Looking for a place to plant your garden? The Town of Palisade has spaces available at the Community Garden on West 4thStreet. Plots range in size and price and are rented out for the full year. All plots include soil and access to city water. Reservations can be made at Palisade Town Hall, reserve by June 1.

SPECIAL EVENTS
Palisade International Honey Bee Festival: Soon blossoms will be popping and bees will be buzzing. Learn all about honey bees, sample local honey, browse a variety of vendor booths, and enjoy family friendly activities at the 10th Annual Honey Bee Fest on Sat, April 14th from 11:00 AM-4:00 PMdowntown Palisade.
Outdoor Heritage Days: Families are encouraged to get outdoors and sample all the Outdoor Recreation opportunities Colorado has to offer with a FREE family event on Saturday, April 28th from 9:00 AM-2:00 PM at Riverbend Park. The event will feature activities such as fishing, archery, Leave no Trace, outdoor safety, birding, summer camp info, local wildlife, and much more. Free lunch is also available from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM and free fishing poles will be given to the first 800 kids.

Group Fitness: All classes are held at the Palisade Community Center and are open to ages 14 and over. All Yoga classes will resume as scheduled this week.

Pickleball: Whether new to the sport or looking for a group to play with, the Palisade Pickle-ballers welcome you to join them during their regular Winter play times. Outdoor times are free, indoor play times the group asks for a donation to help cover the cost of their gym rental. All outdoor times are weather permitting.

EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAMS
Easter Party (Ages 2-6): Parents and Kids are invited to join the last holiday party of the season on Friday, March 30 at 12:00 PM at the Palisade Community Center. Participants will enjoy an Easter Rock Hunt, looking for all sorts of painted rocks, a holiday themed craft, and snack. Registration is$5.00 per child, enroll by March 23. Kids Nature Series (Ages 5-6): children are encouraged to get outdoors and learn about nature and their surroundings through a fun and interactive nature series that will include a short nature walk, identifying things in nature, scavenger hunts, and a nature based craft or science experiment. The first session will take place on Tuesday, March 27 at 1:00 PM at Riverbend Park. Registration is $5.00 per child, enroll by March 22. Strider Camp (Ages 2-4): Little tykes can learn the basics of riding from balance and steering, stopping, and bike safety at the Strider Camp held everyTuesday at 10:30 AM from April 3-April 24 at Riverbend Park on the Bike Skills Park. In the event of inclement weather, camp will relocate to the gymnasium. Registration is $20.00 for kids with their own balance bikes and helmets or $30.00 for kids needing to rent gear. March Madness Games: The March Early Release session will start this Wednesday, March 21 and will run through March 28 from 2:00 PM-4:30 PM at the Palisade Community Center. Gray Gourmet: Meet new friends or catch up with old friends each week at the Gray Gourmet meal, every Tuesday at the Palisade Community Center. Doors open at 11:00 AM and the meal is served at 12:00 PM. Participants are welcome to come at 11:30 AM for dominoes or cards. Advanced reservation is required, to reserve a seat call 243-9844 X1.
History Walk: Explore 3rd street with Colonel Bower on Wednesday, April 4th. Learn about the history of Downtown Palisade with a guided interpretative tour offered by the Palisade Historical Society. Walkers will meet at the kiosk across the street from the Post Office at 10:00 AM and plan to walk for about an hour. Registration is $5.00 per person, which can be paid at the start of the program, all proceeds go to the Palisade Historical Society. Please RSVP by email to Sarah by April 3.
Yard Art & Wind Chimes: It’s Spring and it’s time to spruce up your back yard with some fun DIY projects. Join us on Wed, April 11 at 5:30 PM and learn how to repurpose items to create funky yard art and wind chimes. Class will be held at the Rec Office, located next door to Town Hall. Tech Table: Mesa County Libraries staff will be available to help individuals with their tech devices (eReaders, laptops, phones, gadgets) on Tuesday, April 17 from 3:30 PM-5:30 PM at the Palisade Library. Bring the device you would like help with. This is a FREE program and assistance will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
GET OUTDOORS (ADULTS)
Monday Morning Hiking Club: The weather is beautiful, and it’s time to start hiking. Join us for the first Monday morning hike of the season on Monday, March 26th with a 3 mile hike at Matchett Park, which is all dirt trail. The group will meet at Palisade Town Hall at 7:50 AM and take a shuttle into Grand Junction. Participants are welcome to meet at the trailhead for no charge. Hikers should pack water, snacks, dress in layers, and extra money for the stop at Graff Dairy on the return trip. Registration is $4.00 per person, RSVP by March 22. Dogs Welcome!
Exploring the Archeology & History of the Dolores River: Explore the history of the Dolores River with a guided bus tour through Unaweep Canyon onFriday, April 20th. The group will meet at Palisade Town Hall at 7:50 AM. This trip will incorporate several stops at archaeological sites; including the Dolores Cave, and sites in Gateway and Uravan. Participants should plan to enjoy a few short hikes at some of the sites. Participants should wear sturdy shoes, dress for the weather, pack water, and a sack lunch. Registration is $14.00 per person and it includes transportation. Sorry, this trip is not suited for our furry friends.
