Good enough to eat!

It won’t be long now… the blossoms have dropped, and the fruit is developing… we’re looking forward to the 2017 PeachFest. “You Pick…”, an art quilt by local resident and artist Arden Blatter was chosen to represent this year’s festival by a gathering of ‘voters’ at the Blue Pig Gallery on Friday evening, announced by Palisade Chamber Executive Director Juliann Adams.

After researching specifically which varieties of peaches are likely to be in season during the August 18 – 19 festival this year, Arden then chose the colors that best represent the Hales, Red Havens and Crest Havens that will fill Palisade fruitstands for her appliqued art quilt. Two of the other four art pieces in the competition were also art quilts, a popular medium this year.

The vibrant peachy-red fruit will grace this year’s tee-shirts, posters and other promotional materials for the August festival. Many thanks to all artists that participated, and Congratulations to Arden!
