Summer is a time for adventure and exploration, and the Museums of Western Colorado is thrilled to announce that it will host “Explore it: Museum Extravaganza” camps throughout July. “This is a fun, interactive way for kids to learn about Grand Junction and its history,” says Museums of Western Colorado’s Executive Director Peter Booth. “Participants will have the opportunity to learn how museums operate, and we look forward to taking kids behind-the scenes to get an exclusive look at our collections all three Museums’ sites: Museum of the West in downtown Grand Junction, Dinosaur Journey in Fruita and the Cross Orchards Historic Site on Patterson Road.” Three-day camps are being offered to youth ages 8-14 years, and will be held July 11- 13, 18-20 and 25-27. Each day at camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Classes are capped at 18 participants and cost is $180 per person.
