Palisade will be dripping in Gingerbread icing and hints of cinnamon, and balsam fir will be in the air Friday December 5th through Sunday December 7th for Palisade’s Olde Fashioned Christmas festivities.
Juliann Adams, Executive Director of the Palisade Chamber of Commerce, says, “Planning is under way for the holiday festival. There are only 39 days left before the Light Parade.” Gingerbread contest enthusiasts are already making patterns for their newest creations with dreams of taking home the winning ribbon.
The schedule of events is being finalized and parade entries are coming in. See contact information below.
Adams says there are a couple new activities to look for. First, the Lavender Association of Western Colorado will hold their craft show as part of Olde Fashioned Christmas in the new gym and, second, Hilltop, a 2014 sponsor, will have their shuttle bus running attendees from one activity to the next around town.
“We are excited to have the Lavender Association working with us this year. We hope to give our attendees more gift ideas for their holiday lists,” said Adams. Of course, favorites like Santa’s workshop, Altrusia’s Cup of Warmth, soup challenge, gingerbread showcase, book sale, church open houses and marketplace will still be downtown Palisade.
Adams added, “At this time we are looking for more vendors and sponsors to join us for the 2014 Olde Fashioned Christmas.” Businesses are asked to call the Chamber office if interested in marketing opportunities with Olde Fashioned Christmas.
