The Town of Palisade and the Palisade Chamber of Commerce are inviting the community to celebrate the annual tradition of the Independence Day Parade and Games in the Park on Friday, the 4th of July.
The parade will begin at the old Firehouse at 9am and continues on 3rd Street to Main. If you are interested in entering a float or business please call Melissa at 970-464-7458. This year’s t theme is 110 Years of Palisade.
Bring your chairs or blankets and follow the last float to Memorial Park on 8th Street for games, food and fun. The Palisade Fire Department is providing water games for the kids. Richard Rupp, Fire Chief, says, “It’s a great way to stay cool on a hot summer day.”
Memorial Park will feature Red Rose Cafe hot dogs and brats hot off the grill, a Colorado Native Beer Garden, and Gelu Italian Ice available for purchase, or bring your own picnic and spread out a blanket.
Ron Koss will be playing music for your entertainment, but the real fun will be participating in the sack race, balloon toss or the hoop race. If running isn’t your style, the cake walk is as easy as it sounds and you can win a cake baked by the CEN-TEN committee. Muscle will count to win in the nail driving contest for men and for women and for the strong man pull.
Wear your red, white and blue and come celebrate Palisade’s 110th Birthday. For more information call 970-464-7458.
This is fantastic getting Palisade news and what is going on in town. Great job to all involved getting the news out there.
It is our pleasure. Keep reading and enjoying.
I just wanted to make sure this is happening on the 4th. On the handout from the Chamber it gives the date as the 5th.
Thanks, I want to make sure my grandson gets to be there on the right day!
Yes, Vickie, the Palisade parade is on Friday, July 4th. I’m glad you asked because the story originally didn’t specifically say Friday the 4th, so I added that.
Thanks!
