Following the April 5 election, the mayor and two trustees were sworn in at the April 12 meeting. Also, the five town officers were sworn in.
In addition, four openings on the Palisade Planning Commission and three terms on the Palisade Tourism Advisory Board were filled.
At the April 12 meeting, Town Clerk Lindsey Chitwood swore in the recently re-elected mayor and trustees. They were Mayor and Trustee Roger Granat, Trustee Thea Chase, and Trustee Robynn Sundermeier.
The mayor position was contested by Trustee Dave Edwards, while the two trustees whose terms had expired ran unopposed. Trustees continuing are Edwards, Susan L’Hommedieu, Bennett Price, and Penny Prinster.
The town officers were sworn in by Mayor Granat. They were Town Clerk Lindsey Chitwood, Town Administrator Richard Sales, Town Treasurer Joe Vlach, Town Attorney Ed Sands, and Municipal Court Judge Marna Lake.
Trustees voted to reappoint Betsy McLaughlin and Rick Gibson to the planning commission. Trustees also voted to add new members Don Bosch and Greg Anoia. Alice Dussart lost by one vote to Bosch in a vote to break a tie. Trustee Chase encouraged Dussart to consider applying for the Park and Recreation Advisory Board.
Trustees reappointed three members to the tourism board. They were Juliann Adams, Cassidee Shull, and Rondo Buecheler.
The two hour meeting was held at the Civic Center meeting room, 341 West 7th St. The regular trustees meetings are held the second and fourth Tuesday, 6 p.m. Agendas are available at the town website and by email. Meetings are open to the public.
