The Town of Palisade is currently working on a new Skate Park, and in efforts to raise funds for the project Palisade Parks & Recreation has teamed up with Palisade High School to offer Tile Painting Classes. Palisade High School art students will be teaching basic art techniques and participants will have the opportunity to paint a six inch square tile, which will later be incorporated into the skate park as permanent community art. PHS students have set a goal to raise $3,000 for the project, and they hope to have 100 total tiles created during three separate classes.
The first class will take place on Thursday, January 19th from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at PHS in the art room. Registration is $30.00 per person, but all proceeds will go back to the Skate Park build project. Additional classes will be held on February 21st and March 16th at the same time and location. To register for the classes, call Palisade Parks & Recreation at 464-5602.
