Store owner Carol Mueller was beaming on Feb. 27, the day of the ribbon cutting for The Lavender Lady Boutique’s new location in Palisade, now at 305 Main Street.

Balloons, flowers, and sunshine marked the day of the ribbon cutting and official opening.

In addition to moving one block south on Main Street, the name of the gift store was changed slightly and the business was changed from a co-op store to independent ownership by Mueller.  The previous name of the shop in its first five years of operation was the Lavender Lady & Friends.

Shoppers in the new store will discover that much of the merchandise is by many of the same artists, Mueller pointed out.

Lavender products

Visitors to the store will find many locally crafted gifts and fragrant lavender products.  Gifts include alpaca gloves, hats, and drier balls.  Shoppers will find dipping oils and balsamic vinegars, sweet and saucy salted caramel, jellies, as well as gourmet teas and a tea room.

Hand-painted wine glasses are sold at the shop, along with custom artisan jewelry.  Gift baskets for special events, gift boxes, and party favors are also available.

Mueller said she is looking forward to offering classes in hand painting stemware.

The store’s lavender products and teas are also available at the Country Rose Boutique in Glenwood Springs.  Mueller also takes products to craft shows, including Denver, as well as festivals in Palisade.  The 5th Annual Lavender Festival will be held in Palisade’s Memorial Park on Saturday July 11.  It is sponsored by the Lavender Association of Western Colorado.

Open during street construction

Mueller said she moved the store to be close to other stores.  Also, the location was more affordable.   It happens to be in the previous location of the Palisade Chamber of Commerce office, which recently moved to a larger space in the same building, a former bank building, at Main and 3rd Street.

Mueller noted that the store is open during the current reconstruction of Main Street.  The new street is expected to be completed in June.  The store is normally closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  The store can be reached at both 1-800-554-1570 and 970 683-1649.  The boutique has a Facebook page and a new website is under construction.

“I want to thank all my loyal customers during this move and transition to a new location,” Mueller said later, and to thank them for their patience.
