The Palisade Art Vision Committee (PAV) is pleased to present the 2017-18 installations with an artist walk and reception September 9, 2017 5pm – Public encouraged to attend
PĀV was formed in 2015 by a group of local citizens and artists to promote and embrace “Art as a part of everyday life.” PĀV envisioned an outdoor sculpture program to promote a visible aesthetic voice of the town of Palisade, “The Peach and Wine Capital of Colorado.”
Our first installation in 2016 featured renowned regional sculptures, Dave Davis, Gary Hauschulz, Lyle Nichols and Steve Kentz. Our first sculpture was purchased in 2016, “Spring Herons” by Steve Kentz, with 75% of the proceeds being returned to the artist, and remains in the PAV permanent collection.
We are pleased to present our 2017-18 installations on Saturday September 9,2017 at 5:00pm with an artist walk and reception starting at the Blue Pig Gallery 101 West 3rd Street, Palisade. The following pieces and artists are being honored this year.
Nathan Hale, Palisade, CO – Iron Chieftain
Pavia Justinian, Fruita, CO – Cahaya
Daphna Russell, Cedaredge, CO – Horse of the Plains
Dimitri Spiridon, Sante Fe, NM – Anastasia
Greg Todd, Greeley, CO – Little Ray of Sunshine
Amos Biocic, Grand Junction, CO – Flux
A special addition to the 2017-18 installation is on loan from St. Mary’s Hospital “Which came first…the dinosaur or the egg?” by sculptor Gary Hauschulz from Palisade, CO.
Artists loan their work free of charge for one year, in return, the sculptors are provided an installation stipend and PĀV helps to market their work. Pieces are available for purchase, or as a legacy program. Twenty-five percent of the purchase price is retained to fund this public art program. PĀV relies on the generous tax-free donations of individuals and organizations.
