Members of the 2014 Peach Court were presented to guests at the Palisade Chamber of Commerce’s Business-After-Hours last week.
The Wednesday evening gathering at the Sage Creations Organic Farm on East Orchard Mesa was both fragrant and friendly, with lots of lavender still in bloom, as well as other garden flowers.
The farm had just finished a busy weekend of welcoming Lavender Festival guests, and had umbrella tents set up on the lawn, refreshments, and plenty of lawn furniture for chamber members to relax and network.

Paola Legarre, owner of Sage Creations Organic Farm, and the event host, won a bottle of wine for her efforts.

Janell Dawson from the Palisade Chamber of Commerce visits with new member Mark Love of Transwest Truck Trailer and RV in Grand Junction. Mike promised to have a number of his RVs and trailers to tour during PeachFest in Riverbend Park in August. It looks like the Lavender Lemonade was a hit!
The Peach Court, made up of nine beautiful girls from Palisade area schools, was introduced to the membership of the Chamber and each told a little about themselves, including their favorite ways to enjoy a Palisade peach.
We’ll be seeing them again at the Ice Cream Social on Thursday evening, August 14, when they will be officially crowned to kick off the Peach Fest weekend. A schedule of Peach Fest events may be found at http://www.palisadepeachfest.com.

Lovely in Lavender? Outstanding in Orchid? Pretty in Purple works too, to describe Charlotte Wheeler, left, and Lucky Royse, two of the Chambers energetic volunteers.

Who’s that behind those Foster Grants? Brooke Webb from Mesa Park Winery and Richard Skaer from Z’s Orchard enjoy the early evening view of the Sage Creations Organic orchards that surrounded the party.
