A wall of photographs is growing in the back room.
The Palisade Branch Library is displaying a collection of prints submitted by participants after they attended a “Science through the Lens” tips and techniques class at the library last month.
Officially, the photo gallery at the library will be open Saturday, Sept. 6, through Friday, Sept. 12, but librarian Karen Maheux began putting up the submissions on August 30.
By Sept. 2, the wall in the back conference room had 24 framed photos up.
“With more to go up,” Maheux said. She plans to have the wall filled with all submitted photographs by Saturday.
Several children photo buffs borrowed library cameras that Maheux had available through a grant. Several adults used their own digital cameras.
This is not a contest, commented Maheux, but a showing of the children’s and adults’ “photographic art.”
There are no names, titles, or categories listed on the pictures; they are presented for everyone to enjoy.
